About Me
Abhishesh Kr Jha is a renowned music composer and performer, celebrated for his profound contributions to Sufi and Ghazal music. With a career spanning over two decades, Abhishesh has captivated audiences worldwide with his soulful compositions and mesmerizing performances.
Abhishesh was born in a Shrotriya Brahmin family of Lalganj, a famous village in Mithila region of Bihar, which has been the centre for Sanskrit education for centuries. The young and charismatic singer was strongly influenced by his kin, who were involved in writing Maithili songs for each ‘Sanskara’ (culture/tradition). He is the second son of Shri Durganand Jha and Smt Mala Jha. During his early childhood, his mother used to sing lullaby which had a great impact on his music career.
Till 10th standard, he stayed with his parents and then left for Patna to do his 12th and B. Sc. from prestigious Patna Science College of Patna University. Soon after graduating, he went for a famous music school “Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya”, Lucknow, India, to study Masters in Performing Arts. During the higher studies only, he started performing in concerts with his Guru at various music festivals in India.
Not just music Abhishesh has also achieved big in academics as has Graduation from three subjects and Masters in two subjects.
A much-loved singer among youth, Abhishesh, is a trained classical singer who express his voices in Khayal, Thumari, Ghazal and Maithili folk songs. He is considered as the first musician who has composed songs of Vidyapati, with rare fusion in combination with Indian Raga’s and Western Symphony.
In 2018, he directed his first music album “Saanjh” and has received several accolades in his musical journey. Currently Abhishesh is working on Maithili and Hindi albums.
